Theo Wright is a handweaver and textile designer with a passionate interest in the structure of woven fabrics.
His scarves for men and women are created using natural fibres including wool, silk and mohair. These geometric designs show an analytical and systematic approach, and close attention to detail.
With a longstanding career in educational technology and an interest in mathematics, Theo takes ideas and approaches from these disciplines and applies them to the weaving process to create beautiful and intriguing textiles.
Theo was originally inspired by the textiles that he saw and collected while traveling through Asia and the Middle East in the late 1990s. He began to design and weave his own textiles in 2002, while continuing to work as a technologist. A casual interest gradually became an obsession, and he studied woven textiles formally at Bradford College and University College Falmouth, graduating in 2011.
