Sima Vaziry is a new, up and coming London-based designer whose handmade jewellery is inspired by Afghan and Persian art & motifs, calligraphy, architecture and textures.
Her work is based on transferring her designs from digital media to silver and gold, and combining this with gems and other materials to make jewellery that is versatile and comfortable to wear in a modern world, whilst keeping its link to the ancient beauty of
its provenance. Her pieces reflect the culture of her heritage, her personal experiences, as well as the design disciplines acquired during her academic and professional life.
She started in jewellery after a successful career in graphic design by attending a number of courses at Central Saint Martins, Holts Academy and City Lit and also studied various special techniques under the guidance of some very well known designers.
Sima is working on expanding her collection and also takes on bespoke work. She also teaches a variety of courses at the London Jewellery School in Hatton Garden.
Sima graduated from Ravensbourne College with a BA (Hons) in Visual Communications (Graphic Design) and went on to complete an MA course at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design.
