Rosanna Gethin creates beautifully crafted furniture and interior products using reclaimed materials that would otherwise go to landfill. She primarily uses leather off-cuts and wooden floorboards combining the two materials in an intricate and clever way with a sensitive and subtle use of colour and form.
Rosanna originally trained as a Graphic Designer but later became involved in Textiles by making handbags and accessories primarily out of leather. She has taught Design & Technology at secondary schools for the last 6 years but took time out last year to complete a Masters Degree in Textile Design at Chelsea College of Art & Design. Rosanna specialised in working with leather off cuts and wood waste to create bespoke wall pieces and furniture using an unusual technique that she perfected whilst at Chelsea. She is inspired by mosaics and geometric shapes and has incorporated these ideas into her unique designs. However, it is fundamentally the nature of the materials at hand which dictate the final design and offer the product a new integrity.
Rosanna’s recent work can be found on her website, she takes private commissions and she sells her work at various craft fairs throughout the year.
