“False realities are alluring, exciting and self-sufficient. The danger is when over-indulgence of them leads to one being trapped within this false existence, unable to return to reality”

Encompassing fantasy, ritual, obsession, sanctuary and escapism, the subject of my work originates from psychological struggles with anorexia nervosa and obsessive compulsive disorder.

Visually inspired by nature, microbiology, the human figure and deliberate imperfections, they become metaphors of the uncertainties and perils of the outside world.

Fascinated by form, surface texture and decoration, these elements are imaginatively incorporated in my painstakingly handbuilt and slipcast ceramics.
