Alison Hainey, “Recent Work”, Prints & Paintings

Date: 29 April 2014 to 04 May 2014
Opening Times: Tue – Fri 10am-7pm, Sat & Sun 10am-3:30pm
Location: The Gallery, Craft Central, 33-35 St John’s Square, London, EC1M 4DS

“Recent Work” is an exhibition of prints and paintings by London based artist Alison Hainey. Alison is both an artist and practicing Landscape Architect. After graduating in Landscape design Alison worked in the USA and Hong Kong, before setting up her own landscape practice in London in 1986.

Her drawing style has evolved through what Alison describes as an “obsessive search” to create work that examines our inner vulnerabilities. Alison’s work focuses on the human figure. “The search,” she describes, “is not for realism or anatomical accuracy, but an exploration of emotions, revealed to us by the subconscious signals we use to communicate." More recently, Alison has explored these ideas through painting and printmaking.
