Via-Arkadia ItalianTiles and Metalgarde - Decorative Surfaces in Metal are delighted to be spending a week exhibiting their stunning art panels in Clerkenwell.

Created by Italian contemporary painters, each unique panel is printed on to aluminium, individually enhanced by the artists and then finished with several coats of an epoxy-resin.

During the exhibition, visitors are welcome to attend a series of short 'conversations' by architects, interior designers and art consultants, who will discuss a range of topics, such as the application of metals in architecture and the new face of art as not only an aesthetic but also a functional contributor in interior design.

The talks will be followed by a tasteful pairing of finger foods and fine wine.

Talks, wine and finger food every day from Tuesday to Friday at 12:30pm and 6pm. A detailed programme of the talks will be available at the beginning of September.

About the Artists:

Claudia Zironi - Co-founder and manager of Metalgarde, she is a self-taught abstract painter with a degree in engineering and material science. Her art combines an instinctual understanding of colour with a comprehensive knowledge of how things work. The results are evident in her interpretations of the environment she is so passionate about.

Ilaria Perra - Is an associate lecturer at Central St. Martins College of Art and Design, Perra has an impressive understanding of fashion and graphic design. Her work evokes a tactile sensuality which is apparent in her confident marks and swirling designs. A spiritual artist who has studied yoga and travelled extensively, she has a deep respect for India and its culture. This has informed much of her work.

The first union between jeweller Nettie Birch and textile designer Donna Read who take inspiration from nature.

Nettie makes fold-formed jewellery using aluminium, copper and sterling silver. The technique folds sheet metal and compresses and stretches them by hammering. Once opened, beautiful organic shapes are formed.

Donna's work is mainly floral and plant based. It might be a twig against a blue sky, vivid orange lichen on a tree stump or a shadow cast on a pavement. Donna paints directly on to the fabric creating unique and one- off scarves, cushions and purses.
